Data Recognition Corporation (1978-2020)  Deemed a casualty of the Coronavirus outbreak, DRC was pronounced deceased on March 15th 2020. Called by many the "Island of misfit toys" DRC was a gathering place for the outcasts of our society disguised as a company involved in the standardized testing industry. DRC in it's heyday offered workers monotonous meaningless work for low pay, coordinated by incompetent upper management, all done in a completely dysfunctional environment. The DRC office in Woodbury MN was known for it's legendary offbeat live musical performances by employees, unsanitary bathrooms, broken office chairs, outdated worn carpet, computers that didn't work, a roof that leaked, HVAC system that turned on the heat in summer and the AC in winter, an incompetent IT staff, and what was deemed the " world's worst coffee" served up by the gallon in the breakroom. Such memorable employees who worked at DRC included Poet Laureate Jeff Kulow, "the Hugh Hefner of Oakdale" Matt Wetzel, and "Mrs. Personality" Pat Phillip. Plans are in place to demolish the DRC office and build a strip mall/condominium complex as it has been determined that Woodbury has a severe shortage of such facilities.
